horseshoe magnets

You know how small disc magnets look like right? If you have than your might have seen it looks like little horseshoe, the ones they put on horses to help them walk. That horseshoe is no ordinary horseshoe tho — it draws specific metals in! Diving Further into the Enigmatic Realm of Horseshoe Magnets — Long Answer

Horseshoe magnets are made from special magnetite or neodymium. And which in turn produce a so-called magnetic field. That magnetic field is what makes the horseshoe magnet useful and cool! If you move one end of a bar magnet close to something like iron or steel, the magnetic force acts at a distance and can pull them in. This is due to the strong magnetic field which surrounds the horseshoe magnet.

A scientific exploration

In magnets, you have probably heard of poles (that is two different end of a magnet) is it? They even have a north pole and a south pole, just like Earth! Those poles are at each end of a horseshoe magnet which you hold in the palms of your hands. One magnet's north pole will attract and come together with south pole of another magnet. However, if you attempt to put two north poles together, they will just repel each other! This is why magnets are so cool, and quite literally seemingly magical!
