Magnets are really nifty things that stick to other stuff! (This first appeared, of course, on the Life By the Numbers blog, where all the other people who have nothing better to do with their lives also come to read about what I have to say about magnets.) Magnets have a special power called magnetism that allows them to do this. Some are small, but they are strong, very strong. Small batches of these magnets pull big weight in tech and design.
Well, these little magnets are special. They are constructed from specific materials that allow them to be more powerful than normal magnets. This tiny magnets are made with rare materials by scientists. Small, but mighty — they perform dozens of critical tasks. They improve the function of items such as computer components and electric motors more than ever.
Many household and school items contain small magnets. They help to keep them pockets and bags close. You may see them holding notes on your fridge. Certain magnets are extra special, to the extent they enable trains to float in the air! A train you don’t have to touch the tracks? Oh, and that's what these badass magnets do!
Physicians use tiny magnets to perform very valuable work. They use special machines that take pictures of the inside of the body with magnets. These magnets allow doctors to look inside a person without causing harm. They can examine bones, muscles and other body parts. Some doctors use magnets to help sick people feel better.
Magnets: these are not only serious work; they are supaaa fun! With small magnets you can create some pretty awesome stuff. DKids and adults can build magnetically propelled toys. You can use them to hold your tools, or turn out fancy jewelry. You could do a little experiment with magnets and see if they stick or repel each other.
As you look around you, the chances are that you can spot magnets in many different places. They are inside your computer, in toys, in phones and even in some cars. Some magnets improve the sound of music in speakers. Other magnets contribute to the smooth and fast operation of machines.
Although these magnets are very small, they are extremely powerful. They help to make many things work better here in our world. Small magnets are doing big jobs everywhere, from computers to trains! But scientists are always coming up with new and interesting uses for these incredible little magnets.
